Joys childhood was spent in Andrews, Texas with her parents and her brother Weldon (Billy) Stell. She was crowned football queen in 1950 at Andrews High School and graduated in May 1951. After graduation she moved with her parents to Midland, Texas. Her first job was with Shell Oil Company in the stenographic department.
Joy loved Texas, volunteering to track horny toads, and eating ice cream and pie. She enjoyed bird watching, growing flowers, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving mother to three children, Denise, Gary, and Greg.
She is survived by her two sons Gary and wife (Sandra) Graham of Huntsville, Texas and Greg and wife (Kimberly) Graham of Tomball, Texas; four granddaughters Leslie Nagy, Taylor Graham, Lindsey Graham and Brianna Hosea; one grandson Nathan Malek and; long time family friend Beverly Bryan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and daughter Denise Graham.
A visitation will be held at 9:00am Thursday December 30, 2021, with the funeral service following at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy, Midland TX 79701. The burial will immediately follow at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery.

A burial will occur Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery, 1620 N A St, Midland, Texas.
