John Allen Roberson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Allen Roberson, 39, of San Antonio, Texas. He left us too soon at his home on December 8, 2024, from an unexpected health complication. He will be greatly missed.

John was born in Andrews, TX, on May 14, 1985, to Marcus and Melisa “Lisa” Roberson. He moved to Midland, TX, in the 2nd grade and graduated from Lee High School before continuing his education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. The majority of John’s career was spent as a senior project engineer in the pipeline and midstream industry.

John loves sports, hunting, and fishing. His greatest joy was watching his children in their various sporting activities. His second home and happy place was spent on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico. Saltwater ran through his veins.

John leaves behind his children, Kollyns Faith (9), Barrett Von (7) and Madyson Hope Crowe (18) all of Boerne, TX. He is also survived by his parents Marcus and Melisa “Lisa” Roberson, of Midland, TX. Sisters Jennifer M. Roberson of Midland, TX and Jessica A. Roberson of New Orleans, LA and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents Bobby D. and Sheirran F. Hughes, grandparents Julius C. and Lilian R. Roberson, and his cousin J. Avery Roberson. The pallbearers will be Justin Hughes (cousin), Taylor Harbert (cousin), Nolan Harbert (cousin), Sean Williams, Cody Thompson, Nick Hood, and Justin Smith.

Visitation will be held at Ellis Funeral Home at 4616 North Big Spring Street, Midland, TX on Monday December 16, 2024, from 5:00- 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 17, 2024, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM followed by a graveside committal to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
