Giovanni Joshua Hernandez

Gio had the greatest smile that would light up the room. Everyone was a friend to Gio, even if he had just met you. A few of his favorite things were Paw Patrol, firetrucks and his toy cars, especially Lightening McQueen “Speed”. He loved playing with his little brother and pushing him around in his Paw Patrol car. He would also take any chance he could to steal his pacifier. Gio loved playing his first season of soccer with his dad as his coach. He loved his cuddles and was always eager for hugs from his family. He looked forward to giving his dog, Sandy, her morning pets before she went outside. He loved all his friends and cousins and always had the greatest time playing with them. Gio especially loved going over to his grandparents house where he would get to play outside with the water. He had his favorite area in their backyard where he would sit to dig and play with his cars.

Gio loved his Mama, he would tell her, “Sit right here” and ask for his huggies from her. When he was playing at home he would tell his Dada, “Come on Dada play.” He loved listening and dancing to his Paw Patrol songs anytime he had the chance. He was curious and independent little boy and was always climbing on anything he could to grab what he wanted off counters. Though Gio was only with us for a short time he touched many lives with his bright smile and cheerful personality.

Gio leaves behind an amazing family that will miss him every day: his mom Erika Hernandez, dad Anthony Hernandez, and his little brother, Santiago Hernandez. As well as his maternal grandparents; grandfather, Ignacio Castillo; grandmother Gricelda Castillo; paternal grandparents; grandfather; Vincente Hernandez, and grandmother, “GiGi” Terry Prado. Along with 7 aunts and uncles and 11 cousins.

Gio is preceded in death by his aunt, Thalia Flores and his uncle, Joshua Hernandez.

A visitation for Giovanni will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home, 4616 North Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas. A rosary will occur Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, 4616 North Big Spring . A funeral mass will occur Monday, December 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at San Miguel Arcangel, 1100 Camp St, Midland, TX 79701. A committal service & burial will occur Monday, December 16, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 4616 North Big Spring Street, Midland.
