Doris was born in Olney, Texas on June 19, 1936 to Silas and Hazel Kee. She attended schools in Caddo, Oklahoma and after the family moved, she attended Plains High School in Plains, Texas.
Doris was married to Don H. Miller on July 20, 1953. They were happily married 60 years before his passing in 2013. She worked as a bookkeeper for Albertson’s Supermarket for more than 20 years. She enjoyed church, cooking, bible studies, crocheting, family reunions, and anything her grandchildren were involved in.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Donna J. Minnick of Midland and sisters Anita Diamond and Bobbie Jo Kee both of Midland.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Miller and his wife Donna of Weatherford, Texas, and Steve Miller and his wife Sheila of Lubbock; grandchildren Nathan Maples and his wife Diane of San Antonio, Texas, Amanda Bruton of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Joshua Miller of Lubbock, Garrett Miller of Midland, Hayden Miller of The Colony, Texas and Collins Miller of Lubbock; sister Pat Brookshire and her husband Don of Midland; brother-in-law James Diamond also of Midland and by numerous and much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Ellis Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hanks officiating. A small graveside service will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park North.
