Kay was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was also involved with the Women’s group. She was a school teacher for 33 years with Middletown City Schools. Kay liked to travel, especially going to the Amish Country and to their summer cottage in Manistique, Michigan. She loved to read and cook. Over the years she quilted, painted ceramics and collected snowmen of all kinds.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marion E. Hounshell and brother-in-law, Howard L. “Pete” Hounshell.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Debra (husband, Carl Edward) Sorrell; sister, Mary Sue Hounshell; three nieces, Vicki, Veronica and April; nephew, Scott (wife, Katherine) and numerous other family members and special friends.
Visitation will be 12-1 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Gratis Township.
