George G. Hinkson

of Middleport passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Hinkson was born in Middleport on March 31 1933 son of the late LaVerne and Pauline (Bell) Hinkson

and he has lived in Middleport most of his life.

He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and while in the navy he won the National Defense Medal.

He and his wife Doris (Tuttle) Hinkson were married July 18, 1953.

He started Fairfield American Corp. in Middleport in l977 which later became the Bayer CropScience Company where he was the director of manufacturing.

Mr. Hinkson enjoyed his family traveling with his company, remodeling his house and his children's houses and he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and watching sports on TV.

He is survived by his wife Doris M. Hinkson, five children Rick (Rebecca) Hinkson of Middleport, Geoff (Shelli) Hinkson of North Carolina, Kevin (Helen) Hinkson of North Carolina, Ken Hinkson of Middleport and Yvonne Tobert of North Carolina.

Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister L. Jean Dubrian of Florida.

Friends may call Friday from 4 PM to8 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Middleport United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Knapp officiating.

Burial will be in West Ridgeway Cemetery.
