Laura was born on October 9th, 1956 in Jersey City, NJ and raised there until she moved to Orlando, Florida in the early 70’s. Laura graduated from Colonial High School in Orlando, Florida and went on to attend Orlando Vocational School where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She had a lifelong career in nursing that she loved, where she made many friends and cared for the sick and elderly.
Laura also had a love for the water and all things associated with it from the beach, snorkeling, cruising as well as sunsets. She also was a lover of cats, she has always had a cat since childhood and her latest was Callie, the family pet.
Laura met her husband Jeff in the mid 80’s, they had many similar interests as he too was an avid SCUBA diver and boater; they enjoyed together a life on the water. Jeff and Laura had two boys, step-son Tyson Bay and Derek Bay born in February 1995; whom they loved dearly and dedicated their lives to.
Laura will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. In addition to her father Anthony John Calabria, Laura was predeceased by her husband (Jeffrey Bay) of Middleburg, FL. She is survived by her son Derek Bay and step-son Tyson Bay, as well as her mother Lillian R. Calabria, and sisters Lillian Kittrell (Billy Wayne Kittrell) Notasulga, AL; Andrea Kemp (John Kemp) Port Orange, FL; Erin Kingsland Winter Park, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held for Laura in Orlando, Florida, she will then be laid to rest along with her husband at sea.
