Today we remember our Dear One. The sting is still there for those left behind As Pop Would say "Heads Up". His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July and our Heavenly Father so loved and honored His precious son  "Our Father" that the gates of heaven opened up and God reached down and took His precious son home in a true blaze of glory. Dad would say stand tall and rejoice in living. I will see you again. What a fitting honor for a "Mustang"  "Semper Fi"

My Uncle Gerry was one of the finest men I ever had the honor and privilige of knowing. He was a strong and brave Marine who defended the country he loved. But that did not define him. What defined him was his character, integrity, devotion, and compassion.
Uncle Gerry was a devoted husband who loved my aunt with all his heart. You could see it in his smile, the way he helped her, and the little things he did for her. He showed me what love was.
He was a devoted father, who worked tirelessly to provide for his children. His love for them showed too, even if it was disguised as strict, stern words. My uncle taught his kids through words and actions and was able to see them mature and start their own families. He showed me what a father should be.
I have many fond memories, too long to share, but what I will share is my fondest memory of my Uncle.
He was the most compassionate person I have ever met. He demonstrated his caring for others in too many ways to mention.
He was selfless when it came to helping others. I remember well the many trips he and my aunt made to be with and help my mother. I appreciate all they did. Looking back he was really helping me and my sisters and teaching us about compassion, caring and family. He and my aunt were there for many people, putting their lives on hold while helping others. You really cant speak of one without mentioning the other. They were a great team.
Uncle Gerry, you taught us well.
I love you and will miss you.
