Robert Zain Kilpatrick, age 81 of Miamisburg passed away on Sunday June 9, 2019 after a long battle with kidney disease. Bob was born in Lebanon, Ohio January 13, 1938 to Edwin Jay Kilpatrick and Emma Maxine Kilpatrick Hoff. He graduated from Lebanon HS and from Miami University with a degree in Business Administration. After working at Monsanto (with the DOE) then Standard Register he started the United Coffee Break Service which became the largest independent coffee company in the tri-state area. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and a devoted member of the Miamisburg Rotary Club since 1973 where he had perfect attendance for 43 years. He was thankful for special friends in the “walking group”.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn Gutheil Kilpatrick; children Jeff (Dawn) Kilpatrick of Miamisburg and Sally (Tracey Stivers) Kilpatrick of Cincinnati; granddaughters Emma, Katie and Angie Kilpatrick all in Miamisburg; mother-in-law (Charlotte Gutheil); half-sisters Sara and Joy, sisters-in-law Kathy (Jerry) George, Virginia Gutheil, Gayle Hoff, Chris Kilpatrick; and many nieces and nephews. He is also proud to be survived by the 12 Rotary Exchange students from around the world that are like children. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law (Harry Gutheil), brothers Ed, Bill, and Larry and sister Betty; brother-in-law Phillip Gutheil.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 on Monday July 8, 2019 at the St. James United Methodist Church 401 Carlwood Dr., Miamisburg and will be immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 with Pastor Stu Rammes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in his name to the Miamisburg Rotary Foundation, St. James UMC or Hospice of Dayton.
