Charles “Chuck” Hockett, 65, entered into the presence of his savior, The Lord Jesus Christ on January, 1 2022. Born and raised in Miamisburg, OH, he raised his family in Centerville, OH, before returning back to Miamisburg. As a child he was one of five children in his family. Chuck had been married to his wife, Jill, for the past 40 years. In his accomplished career he worked in various roles for General Motors and Delphi for 30 years. After retirement, he worked for the City of Miamisburg for several years. He was a Christ-follower and member at Centerville Community Church for 33 years, served as a board member, and served as the general contractor for the building addition in 2009. He cherished raising his three children and when they were growing up, he was Coach, Youth Group Leader, and Boy Scout Leader. Chuck loved spending time outdoors in his pastime. He was an avid skier, skiing at over 30 ski resorts in his lifetime. He also enjoyed daily bike rides or hikes with his wife, Jill, in the warmer months. More than anything though, he would be found helping his family and neighbors in any way possible. He was very good at carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile work, and working on cars, and was often found helping fixing or building something for friends or family. Chuck relished his role as father and grandfather and he was a cherished source of Christian love and strength for all. He was the rock for everyone around him. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Hockett, he is survived by his wife, Jill Hockett: sons, Brian (Cheryl) and Jason (Kaitlyn) Hockett: daughter, Lauren (Darren) Hopkins: 11 grandchildren, Jacob, Evan, Anna, Nathan, Oliver, Haley, Madison, Grace, Luke, Henry, and Grant; brothers and sister: Tom (Linda), Steve (Pam), Dave (Kathy), and Susan (Rick); and his brother-in-law, Bruce Fischrupp. Pastor Kedrick Hirschy will conduct the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Centerville Community Church- 10688 Dayton Lebanon Pike, Dayton, OH 45458. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chuck’s honor to the Miami Valley Women’s Center at https://womenscenter.org/ or text "Charles" to 937-400-2998 or sent to 2345 W Stroop Rd, Dayton, OH, 45439, envelopes will also be will be provided at the service.
