Theodora Mihalakea

Theodora Mihalakea, age 96, passed away in Miami Florida, on Wednesday July 4, 2018. She was born in the village of Hatzi, Messenia’s in Greece on January 12, 1922, the daughter of Ioannis and Stavroula Alevizou. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nikolaos Mihalakeas. She is survived by her two daughters; Ekaterini Mihalakea and Stavroula Mihalakea (Thomas Wendeln). Theodora was the first of six children and is preceded in death by siblings Tina Theos and Nikolaos Alevizos. She is survived by siblings Anna Vafeas, Christina Tracas, Eleni (Demetrios) Bouzalas, and sister in law Ageliki Alevizou, her niece and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Theodora was the heart of her family. She was blessed with goodness, courage and hope. She was a motivating force and empowered people with her clarity and simplicity! She had an abundance of love for her family and her many friends! Theodora, was truly God’s gift to her family, and a blessing to all those who knew her!

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City, California 94014. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 999 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco, California 94132. Interment will follow at Greek Orthodox Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Hall.
