I just heard the news Aug 19. My dad, Bob Dagwell, served in Japan with Ron, training police dogs (his favorite was called "Taker"). Though I never personally met him, both mom and dad said he'd been to our house in Michigan once, shortly after we moved to Westland from Mackinaw City. I communicated with Ron through e-mail to keep dad in touch even after dad passed in late 2006, then later on Facebook. I remember Ron's generosity well; he put together several huge binders of material dealing with their time in the Air Force in Japan and sent them to us. I last heard from Ron late last fall when he mentioned he wasn't feeling well. I will miss hearing from him. R.I.P. â€ 

You will miss him forever, I'm sure. I'm just glad that you could be together and go through this together.

Thank you for informing me of Ron's death.  He was a very endearing person.  It was unfortunate that I was unable to see him for such a long period of time.  His long letters to me were evidence of his great sincereness.

No one knew him like you. No one loved him like you. When you lost Ron, you not only lost someone you've loved but the life you had with him each day. I'm so sorry to hear about Ron. Thanks so much for writing me and letting me know.  Ron had sent me in the past the long history of the physical problems he had lived through.  I had not heard from him recently, but I do know that Ron had great love for you.  He talked about how good you were to him.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I am so saddened by Ron's passing. I am so sorry he had such health problems that took such a great toll on his life. He was a prolific writer and brought so many memories back to me. I was so thankful to see the pictures you chose to add to his Obituary. I remember seeing Ron standing as he is in the same way as he did in some of your pictures. Love to you from my heart to yours,

Ron surely was a unique man, much loved by many. It says a lot for who you are for him to have met and married you, as well as who he was for you to have married him. He dealt with his medical issues so well. It was hard, I'm sure.

The pictures were a lovely tribute and I liked them also with the music. You two made a very lovely couple, visually, intellectually, and sentimentally.

Ted Jones passed along the news of Ron's death. I was a friend of both Ron and Jibby's while we were in school at CCDS. Those were not Ron's happyest years, but we had a bit of a bond and I really liked him. I am so glad to know that he had a really loving wife.
