Obituary
John Albert Glass was born May 24, 1929 in Miami, Florida to the late Prince Albert Glass and Maude Higgs Glass.
John was a product of Miami-Dade Public Schools; he earned a high diploma in 1949 from Dorsey Senior High. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served for twenty-four years and retired as Lieutenant Staff Sergeant. In 1978, he obtained an associate arts degree from Miami-Dade Community College. He had numerous occupations; he was a police officer for the City of Miami, U.S. Postal Carrier, and Code Inspector for the City of Miami. He also retained his love for golf. His passion for golf was reflected with his keen swing of the club during the game. He competed in different golf tournaments and won many awards and trophies.
John leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Marjorie Glass; Devoted Grandson ,Anttwan Crockett, Granddaughter, LaQuana Betties; Great Grandsons, Roland Troutman, Jr. and Jaylen Anderson; and 14 great- grandchildren; Devoted Daughter: Lori Jerkins (Carlton); step-children: Sharon Florence, Joan Wright, and Jeffrey Wright; Niece, Donna Rogers; Nephew, Albert Glass and host of other relatives and friends. He preceded in death his daughter, Renee Betties; son, Anthony Glass, and granddaughters, Toyika Lucas and Chandra Manuel.
