Our beloved, Hector Ovidio Garcia-Rojas, passed away at home on December 13, 2024. Hector graduated from the University of Miami; forever a Hurricane. He was a member of the Cane’s crew team and a member of the University of Miami Alumni Association. Hector was born in Mexico City in 1977. He was an avid world traveler, a sports fan, an entrepreneur, a businessman, and an art gallery owner in Wynwood. He loved to talk to people and help them better themselves in their lives and their businesses; he could command a room like very few can. He collected many works of art, was an avid watch collector, and enjoyed the fast paced world of the real estate market. Hector considered himself a lifelong Miamian who loved the beaches, the parks, and cruising his motorcycle through Pinecrest and Coconut Grove. Hector lived in Coral Gables and Miami Beach for many years until moving to Pinecrest to be closer to his parents. He loved to listen to Pearl Jam and enjoyed many of their concerts. Hector’s smile was a ray of sunshine on a rainy day and when he spoke with you, he made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. He is survived by his loving mother and father, Alicia R. Garcia and Dr. Rolando O. Garcia-Morales, his brother and number one fan, Rolando D. Garcia-Rojas, his wife Karin Perilla, and his adoring fiancée, Mireille Maghzal.
