Frank E Kowalski

Frank Edward Kowalski, 75, of The Village of Palmetto Bay, FL, passed away on March 25, 2024, after a long and brave battle with illness. Frank was born on September 3, 1948, to Frank and Sophie in Ashtabula, Ohio. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1966, Frank joined the U.S. Army and served as an equipment repair instructor.

After being discharged, Frank moved to Miami, FL, with his young family. While working as a realtor for Red Carpet Realty, Frank attended Barry University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies. In 1977, Frank founded his insurance agency Koski & Co. Insurance Agents. Shortly after, Frank also founded Metro Dade Realty. For over 40 years, Frank owned and operated these well-regarded companies in Miami-Dade County, in the later years with the support of his son.

Frank became a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) in 1982 and rose through the ranks of the organization to become the national president of CRS in 1996. A natural born leader, Frank was appointed to the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) by Bob Martinez in 1989 and served for three years. He was the chairman of FREC in 1990. Frank also served as president of the Florida Association of Realtors (FAR), in 2005 and was awarded the Florida Realtor of the year in 2007. In 2013, Frank was the president of the Independent Insurance Agents of South Florida and the Regional Vice President of the National Association of Realtors.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Norma, his daughter Trisha (Mauro), son Frank J. (Dayana), his stepdaughters Neli, and Gigi (Junior), his step-son Manny (Stephanie), and big brother Ted. Frank (Poppa) is also very missed by his 15 grandchildren: Lazaro, Julia, Christopher, Madison, Gabriela, Anthony, Robert, Kaden, Frankie, Arianna, Bella, Javi, Melania, Bella H., and Gianna.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South located at 11655 SW 117th Avenue, Miami, Florida on Monday, April 1st. The viewing will begin at 10am and the service will begin at 1:30pm.
