Robert Eugene Brent

Robert Eugene Brent, age 81, passed away at Canon Hospice in Elmwood on November 5, 2016. He was the son of the late Samuel Griffen Brent and Virginia Delores Baker. He is survived by daughter Aundrea (Tracy) Cullen and granddaughter Brittanie (Jarod) Root and great grandson Kaden Root. He is also survived by many friends including Harahan Chief of Police Robert (Tim) Walker and Audrey Walker, former Mayor of Harahan Carlos Ferrera (Katherine), Jamie Rider and Thomas and Terri Mathis. He was born January 1, 1931 in Orlando, Florida and grew up in New Orleans. He joined the U.S. Army in May of 1953 and served as a paratrooper in the 674th Airborne. When he returned home he lived in Harahan, LA and worked as a construction foreman. Relatives and friends are invited to a Graveside Service at Cypress Grove Cemetery, 120 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, situated on Avenue Henderson between Catalpa and Myrtle Walks and numbered twenty-two. The service will begin at 1:00 on Wednesday, November 9 with military honors to follow. A reception will follow at 2:00 at the Red Wagon Restaurant in Harahan.
