Michael Charles Serio Sr.

Mr. Michael Charles Serio, Sr. passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the age of 79. He was a loving husband, father, and great grandfather. Beloved husband of Yvette Diaz Serio, of which he was married to for 53 years. Father of Michael Charles Serio, Jr. (Stephanie) and Michele Serio. Son of the late Jake and Laura Serio. Son-in-law of the late Rudolph and Gladys Diaz. Brother of the late Anthony Serio. Grandfather of Jourdon Michael Serio, Michael Charles Serio, III, Giovani Joseph Serio and Dante Anthony Serio. Great-grandfather of Ava Grace Serio. Mike was born April 19, 1939 in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Warren Easton High School. After serving in the United States Army, Mike and his beloved wife Yvette became long term residents of Kenner, Louisiana for over 50 years. Mike retired from DuPont where he was a purchasing agent in Reserve, Louisiana. He was a member of the Square and Compass #417 Masonic Lodge. He loved NASCAR, fishing, hunting, raising turtles, creating yard signs, and spending time with the family’s beloved poodle Latte. Relative and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, located at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., in Metairie, LA on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, 11316 River Road, St. Rose, Louisiana.
