Mary R. Tillman

Mary R. Tillman, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10, 2017. Beloved wife of George H. Tillman for 52 years by second marriage and the late Robert L. Ashworth by first marriage. Mother of William J. Ashworth and Robin Ashworth Adams (husband, Noel “Torchy” Adams). Grandmother of Angela, Richard, Melissa, Noel, Christian, Matthew and Angelice. Daughter of the late James and Lillian Reed. Sister of Lorraine Reed, Gerald Reed and the late Therald Reed. Also survived by a host of great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tillman was a former member of the Farhad Dahraf. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed baking birthday cakes for the Dahraf ladies and the men of the Farhad Grotto. Mrs. Tillman will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Tuesday morning, February 14, 2017 beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Tillman’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Serenity Hospice, especially Morva and Chunary, for their wonderful care and compassion.
