Mary Elizabeth Becker Fanning passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2022. She was 75 years old. Beloved wife of the late Michael J. Fanning. Loving mother of Michelle Fanning Halder (Lester) and Melissa Fanning Schneider (David). Loving grandmother of Hayley Elizabeth Halder and Ethan Michael Schneider. Sister of Catherine Becker Bouza (Sonny Hays), the late Gerard “Jerry” Becker and the late John "Johnny" Becker (the late Ginger). Daughter of the late Alvin John Becker and Annette Lorraine Richard Becker. Sister-in-law of Sydney Gonsoulin and Ann Reed Bell. Aunt of Kimberly Culmone, Lisa D’Gerolamo (Dave), Shaun Becker, Jeffery Becker (Lauren), Jessica Mattix (Jake), Jennifer Becker, and Amanda Dupuis (Beau). Mary was a native of New Orleans and grew up Uptown, and has been a resident of Metairie for over 50 years. She devoted her life to caring and loving for her family. Mary was also an avid gardener, which earned her the title “Garden Fairy”. She loved to travel with her family, and she will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at LEITZ-EAGAN, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, on Saturday morning, March 12, 2022 at 11:00.
