Margaret McDonald Incháustegui, 88 years old, of Metairie passed away on February 28, 2024 in River Ridge of heart failure. She was born in New Orleans on August 27, 1935 to Robert E. McDonald and Margaret St. Pierre. She married her one and only M. Armando Incháustegui in 1955.
She grew up in Carrollton and then lived in Metairie, Houston, Destrehan and on the Northshore. She was a full-time homemaker who late in life proudly worked in childcare.
She is survived by her children, Deborah I Schroeder, Ricky Incháustegui (Sheila) and Cathy Incháustegui, as well as her brother, Raymond St. Pierre (Gloria) and a host of extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Armando and her brother, Robert E. McDonald, Jr.
She loved drawing, sewing and decorating the house with legendary Christmas villages and Santas. She loved attending family events where she was known for wearing fancy hats. But most of all she loved to talk.
The family thanks the staff and residents of St. Francis Villa and the nurses of Compassus Hospice.
Visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday, March 15, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Burial will follow at Lafayette No. 1.
