Linda Hunn Wester

Linda Hunn Wester, age 85, of Kenner, LA passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from congestive heart failure and other complications. Linda was born on March 5, 1940 in New Orleans, LA and spent her childhood in Algiers, LA. Up until the end, she maintained her kindness, gentleness, and loving personality, since she was a social butterfly and loved by everyone she met.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who valued time spent with her family. Her kindness and warm smile and caring about everyone that was in her path. She was a custodian at the Treasure Chest Casino. She was a member of Pinnacle Autism Special Kids Group where she was able to share her love for children and were they called her "Mama Linda", a member of multiple Golden Age Clubs, and the AARP club in Metairie, LA.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harold J. Hunn, Sr. and Hilda T. Hunn; her brother, Harold J. Hunn, Jr.; her loving husband, Michael B. Wester; and her dear friends, Gail Perk and Dody Mae.

Survivors include her loving son, Thomas Maechling, Jr. (the late Allyson S. Maechling); her step-child, Dawn Flowers (Robert Flowers); her grandchildren, Nicole M. Sylve, Felix B. Borowiak, and William Flowers; her great grandchildren, Landon A. Barrios, Cadon A. Barrios, and Payton A. Barrios; her sister, Deborah H. Rein (Kyle M. Rein); her nieces and nephews, Victoria A. Bakanyan (Armen), Blythe Ann, Jackie, Michael, Michelle, Ronnie, and Caroleen; her great niece, Celine A. Bakanyan, and numerous other great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 9:30am until 11:00am. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
