Laurie Galloway Parr

LAURIE GALLOWAY PARR, age 55, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 in Metairie, La. Laurie was a native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of Jefferson, La. She was the wife of Rickey Parr, the mother of Taylor Elizabeth Parr, Matthew Richard Parr, the stepmother of Jay Darryl Parr and daughter of the late Enid Howes Galloway. She leaves behind grandchildren Shawn Michael Parr and Jade Sierra Parr. Also, the families of Darren Jay Parr, Karla Parr Gilmore, Krystal Parr Williams and the late Arthur George Parr.

She was once a member of Jerusalem Shrine Temple Daughters of the Desert, Metairie Ridge Chapter #169 O.E.S., Farhad Grotto Dahraf Ladies, Immanuel Temple #91 Daughters of the Nile and 2003 First Lady of Jerusalem Shrine Temple. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Memorial Services at Leitz Eagan Funeral Homes, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 5:00 pm where friends may call on after 5:00 pm. Thanks to Metairie Health Care Nursing Home and Harmony Hospice for the compassion they shared with her and the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Jerusalem Shrine Center Transportation Fund or the Grottos of North America Humanitarian Foundation and Cerebral Palsy for Dentistry for Children with Special Needs.
