Katharine "Kathy" C Haydel

Katharine “Kathy” C. Haydel, age 75, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Wednesday, May 11, 2016. She was born February 3, 1941 in New Orleans. Katharine graduated from St. Stephen Catholic School and received her degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was married to her loving husband of 54 years Norman C. Haydel and is survived by her five children Edward J. Haydel (Aimee), Glen J. Haydel (Lurene), Susan H. Osigian (Barkef), Katharine H. Ehrhardt (Jeff), and Deborah H. LeGrange (Chris). And her grandchildren Edward, Danny, Marina, Kory, Sarah, Mallory, Benjamin, Caleb, Katie (Evan), Lane, Molly, Amelie, Beth, Owen, Carlyn, Kyler, and Ella and her 2 great-grandchildren Adele and Asa. She is also survived by her brother James “Teddy” Carter (Betty) as well as her two sisters Bonnie C. Bicocchi (Ronnie), Jody M. Carter and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathy loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed hanging out at the library and was known to check out “skads” of books. She also enjoyed eating out, going to festivals, attending movies and working out at the EJWC. Kathy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana 70006 on Monday afternoon, May 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
