Joyce Annette Phillips went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the age of 86. She was a long-time resident of River Ridge, LA. She was born in Blount County, AL and was one of 15 children born to Travis Columbus and Speaker Walker Glasscox.
Joyce was a founding employee of Noah’s Ark Day Care in Kenner, LA and served in different capacities during her 20+ years of employment.
She was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Joel R. Phillips, Sr. and the mother of Anita Brown (Chuck), Juanita Barbaro (Jeff), Alan Phillips, Sr. (Debby), Debbie Lizarraga (Danny) and the late Joel R. Phillips, Jr. She was the grandmother of Kristyn, Grant, Alan Jr., Sandi, Joey, Sara, Jeffery Jr., Olivia, Emily, Travis, Hannah and Rebekah and great-grandmother to 14.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the visitation and funeral services at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home located at 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
