Janice Murphy Albro

Janice M. Albro passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the age of 80. She was born on October 5, 1942 in New Orleans, LA and was raised in the Irish Channel before becoming a longtime resident of Terrytown.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Murphy Sr. and Nora M. Aucoin, siblings, John Murphy Jr., Alvin Murphy, and Daniel Murphy, and her husbands, Lloyd Ponthieux, Robert Madden, and Calvin Albro.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Denise Wade, step-daughter, Geralyn Paolino (Robert), grandchildren, Kenny Lew III (Shaylyn), Kevin Lew (Helen), Klinton Lew, Andrew Paolino, and Paul Paolino, and great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kamren, Kolton, and Kambre Lew. She is also survived by her siblings, Evelyn Peltier and Michael Murphy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Janice was a friendly and caring woman. She loved going on cruises with her friends, going to the casino, shopping, and watching Saints games on Sunday. She was the biggest fan of her grandchildren and attended many of their sports games. She was a social butterfly and was a member of many clubs including the 11th Ward Social Club, Click Club, Senior Friends, and Check Mates. Janice retired from the Louisiana State Plumbing Board after many years of service and was a devoted parishioner of Christ the King Church in Terrytown. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of being her friend.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 11AM-1PM with a memorial Mass to begin at 1PM.
