Henry Francis Kirsch, age 89, died peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2011. He was a school teacher for 47 years, an active member of St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church, an active member of Archbishop Janssen Council #3068, and was Financial Secretary there for 29 of the 40 years. He was a member of the Order of the Christian Brothers for 20 years. He retired from Orleans Parish Public Schools in 1974 and continued teaching at Holy Cross High School, retired in 1988. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Hilda Suzanne Laughlin Kirsch, his beloved children, Theresa DiCarlo (Vincent), Paul, Barbara DiCarlo (Dominick), Patricia, David (Lisa), Stephen (Melissa), Kenneth (Kara), Andrew and Thomas (Rachelle). Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one sister, Catherine Kirsch Beck. His is preceded in death by his beloved parents Henry George Kirsch and Katie McGoey Kirsch, his brother, John and sisters: Helen Kirsch Coudrain, Rosemary Kirsch Baehr, Henrietta, Geraldine Kirsch Calecas. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, October 24, 2011 at St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church, 3900 Derbigny St., Metairie at 10:30 am, Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 noon.
