Helen MacKenzie Dees passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at her home in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by her adoring family. Helen was born on January 8, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana to John Benjamin MacKenzie and Charlotte “Lottie” Elder MacKenzie. She had a brother John MacKenzie and sister Adrienne Patricia MacKenzie, both of whom predeceased her.
Helen married Charles Dixon Dees, Jr. in 1949. They had a wonderful life together for 56 years until Charlie’s death in 2005 and have left their family a beautiful legacy.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles ”Chuck” Dixon Dees, III and Anna Dees of Venice, Florida, Lottie Dees Lipsey and Michael Lipsey of Orlando, Florida; Grandchildren; Chuck and Terri Dees, Kelly Dees, Jayson and Catie Lipsey, Jess Lipsey, and Jordan Lipsey; Two great-grandchildren, Audrey Cate Lipsey and Michael Lipsey, Four Nieces Terri MacKenzie Dantin, Rev. Tracy MacKenzie, Carol Dees Beck and Sally Dees Rebel ; one nephew John MacKenzie who predeceased her, and so many others whose lives were touched by this precious lady.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr. in Metairie, Saturday, June 16, 2012 starting at 9:30 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
