Helen Dufrene Casey Cunningham, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Edward Casey by first marriage and the late Steve Cunningham by second marriage. Mother of Robert Casey (wife, Rhonda). Grandmother of Shannon Brayden and Kristen Miller. Great grandmother of Addison and Avery Brayden and Chloe Miller. Daughter of the late Ellis Joseph Dufrene and Lordia Clara Loupe Dufrene. Sister of the late Beulah D. Heigle, Mary D. Trosclair, Virginia D. Ray, Lydia D. Wolfe and Louis Gautreaux. Just like a mom to Sandy Heigle Durel. Aunt of Gale H. Bonamour. Also survived and loved by a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cunningham was a very kind person who always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Mrs. Cunningham’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Heidi and Debra of Heritage Manor of Mandeville for their wonderful care and compassion. Relatives and friends of the family, also friends of Mercy Endeavors are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Friday, April 25, 2014 beginning at 10:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:30 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
