Evelyn Marie Adams

Evelyn Marie Adams, a resident of Prairieville,LA, passed away on August 14, 2024 at her home. She was born on May 14,1951 in Wesson, MS to the late Edward Williams and the late Mamie Shannon Williams. She was the wife of Chrissell Adams until his death in 2022, predeceased by her son, Edmund Adams and her brother, Carl Williams. Evelyn graduated from Walter Cohen High School in 1969 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Southern University of Baton Rouge in 1974 and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Southern University of New Orleans. She retired from the State of Louisiana Department of Welfare and Family Services after 32 years of service. Her hobbies included photography, gardening and participating in Southern University of Baton Rouge’s Alumni activities. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Percy Williams (Marva), her nephew, Jared Williams and a grand niece, Jayla Williams and a host of cousins. A graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Blvd., New Orleans, LA on August 22, 2024 at 10am. Pastor Fred Luter, Jr., Officiant.
