Eleanor Ann "Ellie" De Lange Brammell

Eleanor Ann (“Ellie”) De Lange Brammell passed away on April 13, 2023, in New Orleans, LA. Ellie was born in Galveston, TX, and moved to New Orleans at the age of ten. She graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican High School in 1954 and from Louisiana State University in 1958 with a B.A. in Chemistry. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Richard (“Dick”) Brammell, and her parents, Frank Warner De Lange and Mae Stevens De Lange. She is survived by three children, Sally Brammell (David Fox), Harry Brammell (Jennifer), and Patrick Brammell, and three grandchildren, Madeleine Fox, Jonah Fox, and Harrison Brammell. In addition, her brothers, Robert De Lange, and Frank De Lange survive her. Ellie and her husband, Dick were long-time members of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) and the Louisiana Bridge Association. Ellie was a devoted mother and grandmother and was beloved by her wide circle of friends. She was kind, thoughtful, and generous to a fault. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial service to be held on June 10, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Church and a reception thereafter at St. Joseph’s Hall. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. The inurnment will be in Tyler, TX at a later date.
