Donald “Don” Howard passed away at his home on Saturday, August 20, 2023, at the age of 74. He was born in Kankakee, Illinois to Dorothy and Alfred Colquitt Howard. He moved to Michigan, Wisconsin and New Jersey in quick succession and then moved to Cincinnati where he attended elementary school. He moved again to Orlando, Florida where he attended junior high. While in Florida, he lived on Lake Silver where he enjoyed riding on his hydroplane (speed boat). He moved again to Dayton, Ohio where he attended Fairmont West High School. Afterwards, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Georgia Tech where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked in the restaurant industry for the next four years, running restaurants from Florida to North Carolina. He married his first wife, Linda Marrow, who was from Hickory, North Carolina. She tragically died in 1986. Later on, Don decided to obtain his master's degree in petroleum engineering from Tulane University. After graduation, he became employed with the Federal Government as a district engineer. He worked his way up to regional supervisor of field operations for the Gulf of Mexico. In 1992, he married Sandra Weisiger who was his wife until his passing. Don was an avid golfer and fisherman. In 2021, after his cancer diagnosis, he could no longer enjoy golfing or fishing. He leaves behind his wife Sandy and two brothers, Al and Bruce Howard.
