Dedicated husband, father of two, and friend to all passed away on October 29, 2022, at the age of 69 in Diamondhead, MS.
Alton Jr. was born to parents Alton Sr. and Marie Adams in New Orleans, LA. He completed his education in the United States Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged from the military in 1975, he began a career in law enforcement with the Kenner Police Department. Always a servant-minded person, Al spent much of his time taking care of others.
Shortly after joining the police department, Al had two children, Tory and Alton III. In an effort to be home with his children more, he chose to take early retirement from the police force. He then began a very successful career in aviation and eventually retired from ASIG in 2018.
Al met and married Tamara “Tammy” May from Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1985. They shared a love like no other with a marriage that lasted 37 years. Al was always making friends wherever he was, being a stranger to no one. He found great purpose in sharing in the successes, joys, and challenges of those around him. Al was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life.
Al enjoyed doing for others and began his hobby of woodworking. He was able to make various projects for schools, churches, friends, and family alike. He took great pride in making rocking horses for all the new babies in his life as well as wagons, shoe armoires, wine racks, and anything else for someone that had a need. Al and Tammy chose to move to Diamondhead in their retirement to be closer to their children and grandchildren and enjoyed those special moments watching them grow.
Al was preceded in death by his parents Alton Sr. and Marie, as well as his beloved brother-in-law Ernest Cambre. He is survived by his wife, Tammy, his children Tory and fiancé Daniel in Slidell, Alton III and his wife Kristin in River Ridge, his grandchildren Hannah-Grace and fiancé Kenneth, Coltin, Dale, Emma Kate, Brady, Beau, Elizabeth, and Nate. Al was also survived by his beloved sisters Elizabeth, Terry (Jay), Michelle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
