There, in Susanville, is where Beau was raised and attended school, graduating from Lassen High School in 1965. Beau loved his music. His favorites included The Eagles, Loggins & Messina and, of course, The Beatles. He got his first guitar when he was still a Freshman in high school. His brother-in-law Bill, took him to the music store in Susanville, California and thus began his love of the instrument. Beau enjoyed entertaining his friends with not only guitar but with keyboard and song. Singing made him happy.
In 1967, Beau joined the Army where he earned the rank of SPEC 5, serving two years and toured South Korea.
Once home from the Army he resumed his love of music as a bass player & singer in a popular, local band in Susanville.
Along comes 1976, when Beau married his beloved wife Sylvia better known as Sam. Eventually the loving couple relocated from California to Texas in 1994, where they have enjoyed many new friendships. It was here that Beau found himself proud to be 32° Master Mason, 32° Scottish Rite of FreeMasonry and a member of the Hella Shriners in Garland, Texas. Beau was active in the Shrine until he developed some mobility issues and was unable to devote the time and energy he wanted. Outside of his hobbies and devotion to the Shriners, Beau retired from the City of Mesquite as a Utility Crew Chief where he worked for over 17 years.
Beau and Sam truly enjoyed 48 years together as Soulmates and just recently celebrated that milestone on July 31st.
Beau is preceded in death by his parents Lifford & Mary Markham, and sister Neva Sue Landa.
He is survived by his wife Sam Markham, son Sean Markham, grandson Kevin Markham, sister Joann Anderson. Along with many beloved nieces & nephews, and friends.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Children Hospital
A funeral service for Beau will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, Texas 75088.
