Mesquite TX 75149 with burial at Grove Hill Cemetery 3920 Samuell Blvd. Dallas TX 75228. Dale Hendricks preacher of Post Oak Rd Church of Christ in Kilgore, Texas will conduct the services. Joe was born October 6, 1935 to Robert Oscar Cobb and Stella Pearl Cobb in Dallas, Texas and died in Tyler, Texas February 4, 2021. He moved to the East Texas area in 1978. He lived in Longview, Texas with his wife of 32 years Patsy Cobb who survives him. We choose not to remember him in death but focus on his life. He was always smiling, dancing, and never met a stranger. He loved to make people laugh. He loved to bowl, fish and sports. His favorite team was the Texas Rangers. He loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys play as well. Most of all he loved his family and would always ask when we would have get togethers if these were all his people and and we always told him he was the one that started it all! He is survived by daughter Patricia Ann Turner and husband Ray of Carrollton, Texas, son Donald Terry Cobb & wife Bekkie of Windom, Texas, son Robert Joseph Cobb of Tombstone, AZ, and daughter Rhonda Barber & husband Weldon of White Oak Texas, step son Stan Frazier of Pasadena, Maryland and step daughter Carrie Kinsel & husband David of Harleton,Texas. He had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, & 3 great-great grandkids, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Pall bearers were Ray Turner son-in-law, Weldon Barber son-in-law, Chase Carpenter grandson in-law, Kiley Cobb grandson, great grandsons, Zachary Cobb, Colton Cobb, Shayne Allen, & Tyson Johnson. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of East Texas at www.hospiceofeasttexas.org, or Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org/donate. We would like to thank the staff at Legend Oaks Nursing Facility of Gladewater, Tx for caring for him the last 2 1/2 years, and Hospice of East Texas in Tyler Texas for their wonderful care the last week and a half of his life. We will be keeping the service small out of an abundance of caution due to the Coronavirus. For those that are attending face masks must be worn at all times and social distancing required while in the building.
