Virginia Ruth Martin, 69yrs old, (just weeks short of turning 70) passed away on July 23, 2022 in Medical City of Plano after fighting gastric and intestinal problems caused by a whipple surgery that freed her from pancreatic cancer.
Ruth was born Aug 13, 1952 in Dallas,TX. Named after her mother Virginia and Aunt Lajean Ruth. Ruth lived in ser real places in Texas throughout her years. Graduated from Paschal High School in Ft Worth and then to Tarrant County Junior College where she studied to be a floral designer. She had many different jobs through out her years, one being an elevator operator at the nuclear power plant when it was being built in Glenrose, Tx. Her longest holding job was with Blanton Flower shop where she made beautiful creations for others to enjoy. She was very crafty with so many projects. From making jewelry, making little Christmas towns to fairy towns and knitting purses, blankets, clothes and even little stuffed animals, Ruth had so much talent and great ideas!
Ruth loved to sing but was a bit shy and needed her sister, Merle to give her a nudge. She lived life to the fullest and loved with every bit of her heart.
Preceded in death by her parents Wendell Ray and Virginia Merle Covington, her brother: Johnny Ray Covington, several aunts & uncles and many cousins.
Ruth is survived by 2 sons, Tim and Russel Hardin, 2 sisters: Merle Neumann and Candy Oppelt and many nieces and nephews and even extended friends and family whom all loved her deeply.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held Saturday, August 13 at 3pm (her 70th birthday) please join us as we remember her colorful and wonderful soul that she shared with us!
