Larry Dwain Baker, age 71, of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 11, 2024, due to complications from a massive stroke that he suffered from earlier in the year. Larry was born August 19, 1952. Larry was raised in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1970 and attended Eastfield College. He married Dorothy Lynn Malone in 1972 and had one child, Jeremy Zane Baker.
He was employed by the City of Dallas for 33 years where he was known as “LD”. Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge Sam P Cochran, No. 1335, Dallas, Texas.
Larry loves music, bowling, big trucks, traveling, spoiling his grandkids, spending quality time with his extended family and his Furbabies. Anyone who knew Larry felt his big heart and giving nature.
Larry is survived by his wife Dot, their son Jeremy, grandchildren: Christopher Zane Baker and Kirsten Leigh Baker, two brothers: Allan Ross Baker of Austin, Texas and Gary Wayne Baker and wife Linda of Midlothian, Texas as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Wanda Baker and his in-laws, Cecil Nathan and Geraldine Malone and his beloved pets.
