Glen Howard Smith Sr., age 66, entered into rest on December 6, 2021 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He entered into life on December 30, 1954 in Dallas, Texas, to Jack Howard Smith and Joy Laverne Burchfield. Glen Sr. was raised in Dallas, Texas. Glen worked as a General Manager at AUI Rental Properties for over a decade for Ray McElrath SR., who he has known since he was a teenager. Glen admired and respected Ray McElrath SR. and always said he was like a father to him and has been God sent to him and his family.
Glen was a diligent worker and loved to work and stay busy. In his spare time, Glen loved to watch legal drama television series, hunt, and fish. One of his favorite things was running around with his son Glen JR. and visiting friends. He was also a huge supporter of the Banshee Motorcycle Club.
His family and friends will always remember him as a special, giving. loving person who never knew a stranger and would give to those in need even the shirt off his back. He genuinely loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joy Laverne Smith and Jack Howard Smith; and sister, Pamela Lansdell.
Glen is survived by his girlfriend Tiffany Johnston, by his sisters, Gilda Bartlett, Marsha Poage, and Denise Fulgham; brother, Ronnie Smith; his son, Glen JR.; daughter, Amanda Burgess; grandchildren, Haley Smith, Colton Smith, Jordan Burgess, and Hayden Burgess; step-daughters, Tyranie Cicek, Dorothy Smith, and Valley Williams; step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Cody, Tyler, Tanner, Jake, Luke, Justin, Josh, and Mallory; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; uncle; Uncle Burch and family, his best friend, Ray McElrath JR.; and numerous other friends and family.
Visitation will be Friday December 17th from 5pm-8pm at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, TX 75149. Family members will be allowed in after 4pm if you would like to come early.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 18TH 1pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228
Following the services there will a gathering at the Cottage at 3006 W Northwest Hwy Dallas, TX 75220 for family and friends in Glen’s honor.
