Allene Marjorie Doty

Allene Marjorie Doty passed away at her home in Mesquite, Texas on November 9, 2024. She was born October 27, 1930 in Lindsay, Texas. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph’s Academy in Dallas, Texas. Afterwards, she was a model and worked at the phone company. She married the love of her life, Charles “Virgil” Doty June 30, 1950 and they remained happily married until his death February 9, 1990.

Allene loved traveling the country with her best friend, Delina Millican. In her younger years, she loved going to the coast and riding motorcycles with her husband. She was active in church and a devout Catholic. To her family and many who knew her, she was “Memaw”. She had the kindest, sweetest spirit and loved her family unconditionally. She loved watching crime shows and Hallmark movies, as well as playing Skip-Bo and Uno. She made everyone around her feel special. Her faith was extremely important to her; it radiated from her sweet smile and she wanted everyone to know the love of God.

She leaves behind her children, Brenda Barnes, Richard “Rickey” Doty, and Sherrie Martinez; brother, Herbert Swirczynski; grandchildren, Chad Yaggie, Alisha Doty, Crystal Kopfer, Tina Rose, Mandy Everett, and Matt Martinez; as well as 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests donations be sent to Scottish Rite Hospital or a local animal shelter.

A visitation for Allene will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A committal service will occur Friday, November 15, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
