Tyler James Rascon,
You are a vision of light in which people feel a warm presence when near you. Being apart of the last six years of your life has been the best adventure for me. We had our ups and down's but never compares to the feeling of knowing you are always there for me, and I am there for you. When it comes to complimenting me, you choose to compliment the career path I wanted to go in, a counselor for families and children. I want to tell each child I encounter to live a life of love and find their passion and run with it. Everyone certainly knows you ran with it. Look where it led you to be a pro rugby player at age twenty. But the most significant achievement was captivating the hearts of friends, family, and teammates.  All the people I have met from last night to today have showed me the memories of you will always live long in their hearts. For me, the previous two days have been the most difficult to handle, not having you as my motivator, my sounding board, and my overall Tyler.

I remember meeting Tyler our freshman year of high school. I knew instantly that we would become good friends. From there on out he was always the sweetest to me and he always helped me out when  I needed it. I remember him offering to help my mom and I move one time even though he had an injured foot at the time. He never failed to put a smile on my face whether it was at school hanging out or just a simple message he would send me. I'm going to miss him and that beautiful smile of his. You're never going to be forgetting. Love you always Tyler. Fly high angel.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler and his family when they moved on my property back in August. He always , always had a smile on his face and had the sweetest personality to match. I had the pleasure of having a brief conversation with him last week and he spoke of his Nana and that beautiful smile was once again displayed as he loved his family so much. His presence will greatly be missed but I will forever remember this beautiful soul that was taken much too soon. God bless his family.

I met tyler when I was a sophomore in high school. He was a junior. I met him through our friend Ryan.  Tyler and I  were close at the time and he was always so positive and happy and always had a smile on his face. He would always laugh ten times harder when he heard my laugh and said that I had the best laugh. He was the sweetest kid. Even after high school we didn’t talk much but I saw him around every now and then and if we saw each other we would talk for 20 minutes  just catching up on each others lives. He always asked how I was or how my family was doing and I did the same. Sweet boy tyler was. I am glad I got to make some fun memories with him. Loved by everyone and will be missed by tons. Tyler was a friend that I had all through high school. Anytime he walked into a room everyone lit up. He wanted to be friends with everyone he could, and he impacted so many. Tyler will always be remembered by everyone. 

I met Tyler my freshman year of high school, he was one of the kindest people I had ever met. Right off the bat we were friends. I was dating one of his friends and I remember we went on a double date and Tyler ended up fourth wheeling, but he didn’t even care, we all just had the best time. He was full of love and kindness. I saw him almost every single day when I was working out at youfit, he always asked me how my well-being  was.  Back in February I lost one of my dearest friends, and Tyler took me out to breakfast and let me vent about how sad I was. I never thought this day would come where I’d be venting to someone else about how sad I am about ty. I love and miss you always Tyler. You were so amazing and I’m beyond blessed to have known you. Your smile and attitude will never be forgotten.

Tyler, Tempe Rugby Club’s little Bambi, always had a smile on his face and a laugh to share. He was, without a doubt in my mind, the hardest worker on the field. He never made excuses for anything and always gave everything he had.

Tyler loved all of his teammates. He often told everyone on the team that he loved them. He wanted every person around him to be in good spirits and to feel welcomed in his presence.

My last conversation with Tyler was in May of 2020. I had moved away from Arizona at that point. Tyler called me -  I figured he was calling to talk about the club but no, Tyler called to ask how I was doing. Tyler genuinely wanted to check on my well-being. I am grateful to have felt that kind of love from him and I am so lucky to have know him.

I hope Tyler’s friends and family can find peace.

Tyler, I love you buddy. Rest In Peace. I’ll see you later.

From the day that I met him, Tyler easily took a spot as one of the most important people in my life. From all of the I love you's to I miss you's, to his cheesy jokes and singing random songs to me, those are memories I will cherish forever. All of the late nights into early mornings, ihop dates, and daily phone calls. He was the sweetest person and could light up every room he went into. He left an impact on every person that he met. I miss him every day and I know he's watching over us in Heaven, and making all of the other angels laugh too. I love you Ty, my whole heart is with you and your mom.

I remember us always joking about getting married in high school, you have been by far the nicest person I’ve known, you were so kind to everyone you met and you never had anything negative to say about anyone or anything and that will always stay with me. I miss having rugby practice with you in high school, I miss you like crazy Tyler but I know you are watching us all now and I know you are in a better place. Thank you for the laughs and smiles you have placed in my life. 

I met Tyler through a game, but I would FaceTime him asking for advice about working out, and gym wise, and he’d be happy to help. Tyler was a great and positive soul and it’s so saddening to see him gone. 

When Tyler and I first started rugby together we were both the skinniest most awkward kids on the field. The only difference was his attitude. He always had a smile and always was focused on lifting up people around him. Fast forward a couple years he’s one of the finest rugby players in the state , and had a great attitude about life . He had endless potential and had unlocked many of the keys to life that I wouldn’t even know about for years. It breaks my heart to hear of his tragedy , but I and everyone else will remember him for what he was, a team player, and a great friend. Rest In Peace buddy.

When I was first joining the Rhinos I was the only girl and by far the youngest. I was scared to be playing at a higher level, and all the boys ignored me and were mean to me and didn’t include me. Tyler would always explain to me what we were doing when I was confused. He’d choose me for touch teams when no one else would and would be on my team for drills when no one else did. Tyler helped me be comfortable enough with the Rhinos to continue playing even though I was smaller than everyone else. Often times I would want to sit out of drills I didn’t understand and Tyler helped me. Tyler also on many occasions helped me with my passes after games and whenever I asked him a question he always helped me. Tyler was an amazing friend who gave me confidence without even trying to. I will never forget his kindness.


Tyler was a great student but more than that he was a great person and always possessed a positive attitude.  He always shared a story when we met.  He will be missed by all the lives he touched.  His life was cut short but his memories will never be forgotten.  He was an outstanding young man.
