Rodney (Rod) Lee Wilkins passed away peacefully at home in Mesa, AZ on 1/3/2024 at the age of 69.
Rod grew up with his family in Mesa, AZ. After graduating from Mesa High School, Rod spent his life as a Master Welder. He took great pride in his contributions helping to build famous venues, his favorite being Bank One Ballpark (Chase Field). Rod loved to dance, well known for his expertise in country-western dancing, he would put on his boots every chance he had. After retirement he never fully laid his tools down; he enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, and of course spending time with his family.
Rod is preceded in death by his parents Alvin & Ruth Wilkins, brother Ricky Wilkins. He is survived by his daughters Krisha Shufran, Sarah Tripodo, sons Rod Wilkins Jr, Tyler Wilkins, sister Johnnie Shill, and all of his wonderful grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
