LTC Robert Charles Scully Jr. (Ret.), a decorated military officer, passed away on October 13, 2024. Among his many achievements, he was proudest of his graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1956, and his distinguished service as a Ranger, Paratrooper, and Master Army Aviator.
Bob honorably served two tours in Vietnam, from 1965-1966 and 1968-1969, demonstrating unwavering dedication to his country. Throughout his life, he spoke with passion about his love for God, family, and country. Though his service took him around the world, his heart always remained with his hometown of Adams, Massachusetts, and his beloved family.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, their son Robert Charles Scully III and his wife Michelle, their daughter Kim and her husband Alex, and their daughter, Coree Scully. Bob is also remembered as a proud grandfather to Kelsey, Kiera, and Kerry Scully, and great-grandfather to Jayce Smith Scully, Christopher, Gianna Manganiello, Amyra and Audri Scully, and Giovanni Macon. He was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Valerie Scully, in 1988. Additionally, he is survived by his nephew, Tom Kustra, and Tom’s wife, Rui.
LTC Scully will be laid to rest with full military honors at the National Cemetery in Cave Creek, Arizona, in November 2024. His legacy of service, devotion, and love will be cherished by all who knew him.
