91, of Mesa, AZ passed away on July 4, 2012. Paul was born on August 16, 1920 in Madison, Wisconsin to the Rev. T. Sidney Beavin and Lizette Elizabeth Alt Beavin. He was the second of their five children. Paul graduated from high school in Richland Center, Wisconsin in 1938 and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Kay) Annette Barnhart of Richland Center, Wisconsin in 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Paul worked for the Glidden Paint Company for 31 years as a top salesman and manager in Madison, Wisconsin; Omaha, Nebraska; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin before "retiring" to Mesa, Arizona in 1978 and working with his sons in the Beavin's Rentals businesses in Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona. He was active in the businesses and multiple professional associations until the age of 83. Paul loved to hunt and fish with his children, relax in the family cabin in Pine, Arizona, (which he built with his sons) and he loved to travel and visit with friends and extended family. After the death of his wife in 2007, he volunteered for Hospice of the Valley , and later took an active interest in the many activities of Dory Becker who became his beloved companion. Paul was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (March 7, 2007) and his son Paul Sidney Beavin (December 8, 2009), his sisters Kathryn Terman, and Dorothy Gorman. He is survived by his brother, Bart Beavin and sister Margaret Barnhart. He is survived by his children: Ruth Annette Haupenthal, Barbara Jeanne Yost, Mark Lee Beavin, Janet Sue McCormack and Kathleen Elizabeth Roberts. He is survived by his grandchildren: Linda Mackay, Suzan Gilson, Leanna Geurtz, Shannon Beavin, Tanya Gruntorad, Cherie Clark, Donald Beavin, Devin McCormack, Maureen McCormack, Carissa McCormack, Joseph Canfield, Nina Canfield. He is survived by his great-grandchildren: David Mackay, Laura Mackay, Anna Gilson, Christina Gilson, Ezra Beavin, Axton Judd, Kelsey Gruntorad, Trenton Gruntorad, Aubrey Clark, Clayton Clark, Ashlyn Beavin, Talon Beavin, Alexis McCormack, Makayla McCormack, Braedon McCormack, Austin Canfield Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, July 7 at Melcher's Chapel of the Roses on Stapley. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Paul's memory to Hospice of the Valley .
