Pamela Kay Reid

Pamela (Watson) Reid was born on November 28, 1959, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the youngest of four siblings. Her life was a testament to her mantra, "I can, I will," words she lived by through every challenge and triumph. She caught the eye of a red-headed Irishman one evening while out with friends, a man who would quickly sweep her off her feet. Her and Mike married in Rapid City on June 2, 1984, just recently celebrating four incredible decades of marriage this year. In 1986, Pam and Mike moved to Arizona, a place they’ve called home ever since.

Pam's life was filled with adventure, love, road trips, and a deep connection to family. She cherished motorcycle rides through the mountains, moments spent spoiling her beloved grandchildren, and was renowned for creating the world’s best peanut butter balls. Traveling to see family brought her joy, and scrapbooking the story of her family’s journey was a passion she treasured. Those who met her knew her for her radiant smile, her unmistakable spunk, and the fierce resilience with which she battled cancer, leaving everyone in awe and admiration. Even in her final weeks, Pam remained a beacon of hope, joy, and determination, a legacy that her family and friends will continue to carry forward. She passed away surrounded by loved ones after a courageous year-long fight.

She is survived by her devoted husband Mike, son Patrick (Kristina), daughter Hanna (Logan), sister Dorthy Soulek, twin brother Thomas (Ronda) Watson, brother-in-law Bill Parkkila, and her cherished granddaughters Emberly and Kali, along with her loyal furry friend, Hope. Pam was predeceased by her parents Johanna (Loos) and Theodore Watson, and her sister Helen (Watson) Parkkila.

A service to celebrate Pamela’s life will be held on Saturday, October 12th, at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 1551 E Dana Ave, Mesa, AZ 85204. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her honor to MD Anderson Cancer Center using the link below.

Pam’s warmth, strength, and unwavering spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. True to her mantra—"I can, I will"—Pam faced life’s challenges with steadfast determination, and even now, her enduring spirit reminds us all that we too can, and we will, carry her legacy forward.
