Donna Marie Pittman, 95½ years young, passed away peacefully from natural causes in her Apache Junction, AZ, home on July 31, 2022. Donna (aka: Auntie Donna) was born December 3, 1926, in what would become her lifelong home on Sherman Blvd. in Des Moines, IA, being the middle daughter of Claude & Blanche (Peacock) Pittman.
She was a horsewoman, gardener, Sunday School/Sabbath School teacher, loyal friend & loved by everyone. Her heart was always open to cats of every color, shape & size. When she moved to AZ in 2010, her kitties Dipper & Tiger moved with her.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School, Des Moines & attended IA State Teachers College for one year. Her first job was at Flynn Dairy as a comptometer operator. Although she lost most of her sight, people were amazed at all she accomplished. She worked for All Camp Camping Store & retired from Dixon Industries. Her flower garden/yard was the talk of the Beaverdale neighborhood. Her years in AZ were full of watching westerns, NCIS meal night, talking books, going for day trips, visiting with friends, Bingo, plastic canvas art & anything else she wished to do.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Claudine Evans Brown & Mary Hibbs Evans & family friend Sandi Paskins Nagle. Those living with her memory are niece Kathy Evans Highland (Apache Junction, AZ), niece Julie Hibbs Zussman (Rick - Huntington Woods, MI), nephew Paul Hibbs (Paula -Littleton, CO), 5 great nephews, 1 great niece, 4 great-great nieces, along with numerous Peacock family members in the Keosauqua, IA area & throughout the USA plus many friends who have been blessed knowing her.
