Diane Mary Nelson

Diane Mary Nelson, 72, of Mesa Arizona passed away unexpectedly on April 12. 2016. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 14, 1943, the daughter of Earl and Mary Sitter Reaser. She graduated from Custer High School in 1961, and received an Associate of Science degree from Milwaukee Institute of Technology, later renamed Milwaukee Area Technical College, where she worked as a lithographer for her entire career of 41 years

Diane married Howard Nelson on July 3, 1965.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Howard, her beloved daughter Jennifer Jill Ionita; son in law, Daniel Ionita; granddaughter, Sofia Adele Ionita; sister, Janet Stefanec; foster daughter, Barbara Hugg. She was a founding member of “The MATC Bunny Bunch”, a group of friends and colleagues from MATC, where she was reputed as a peacemaker and ambassador. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Mary Reaser, and her brother-in-law Ronald Stefanec.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 25 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel, 6625 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ 85205. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 10:00 am at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Diane’s name to The United Way or KJZZ public radio.
