David William Cross

David William Cross was born on August 20, 1967, in Rochester, NY. On the day of September 1, 2020 in Mesa, AZ our world became a little darker, a little harsher, and a lot less kind. We lost an amazing, kind, loving and gentle soul.

David attended, and graduated from, John Marshall High School, in Rochester, NY in 1986. Following high school, David joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Japan. He absolutely loved everything regarding the Marines. He always said that he enjoyed seeing the planes fly by in Japan while stationed there. David had a love for many outdoor activities including, skydiving, hiking and just simply working in the garden in his backyard. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock and metal and traveling to new places with his wife. Most importantly, he was always smiling and joking around, making other people laugh and smile. He had a love for animals, especially Rhinos but most of all he loved playing with his cats. David met Leslie Hynek on March 17, 2010, St. Patrick’s Day, and were later married on the same day in 2012. His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of many. David is survived by his loving wife, Leslie A. Cross; daughters, Amanda and Ashley; stepchildren, Brian, Tyler and Kristen Hynek; his father, William A. Cross; and his brothers, Mark Daniel Cross and Matthew Steven Cross. We will always cherish the time and love we got to experience with you David.
