Daniel Lloyd LeClear

Daniel Lloyd LeClear of Mesa, AZ, born July 8, 1950 in Portland, Oregon. He gave a great fight but sadly lost his battle to ALS on April 27, 2021 at the age of 70. He attended Bolsa Grande High School in California, graduating in 1968. Then attended and graduated from ITT Technical Institute. Daniel proudly served in the United States Navy for 30 years as a First-Class Petty Officer. Daniel served aboard the nuclear-powered fleet ballistic missile submarines USS Grant, USS Nathaniel Green and USS Canopus.

Daniel loved beating others at chess, KENO, learning the Spanish language, and playing with his cat “Smokey”. He was very computer savvy, he enjoyed building computers and designing personal websites. Daniel was a big family man! He loved watching the news with his beautiful wife Julia, spending time with his step-sons and especially being a grandpa(pop-pop) to his grandson, Nicholas. This brought joy to Daniel on a daily basis.

Daniel was married to Julia Renee Gibson on March 23, 2012 at Hope Covenant Church in Chandler, Arizona. He is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Julia LeClear; step-children, Terance William and Thomas Steven Gibson, daughter-in law Rebecca Marie Bulmahn; son, Christopher Lee Hanson; daughter, Michelle Rene Hanson; his grandson, Nicholas Alexander Bulmahn-Gibson; his brother and sister in law, Robert and Carol Siebert; mother-in-law, Lonnie and Steve Stewart; father-in-law, Tom and Carol Gibson-Wernecke; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Darris and Shaina Linginfelter and baby girl Lyla as well as his best friends, Don Rice and Tracie Korfel.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care, 400 S. Power Rd, Mesa AZ
