Carol Ann Bernard was born on September 6,1956 in El Paso, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Margaret Bernard. Carol is survived by her husband MGySgt. John Edwin Urban of Gold Canyon, Arizona married for 36 years, her son Brandon Paul Pettit (Elizabeth) of Gilbert, Arizona. Aaron Patrick Pettit (Crystal) of Mesa, Arizona, stepson John Edwin Urban Jr. (Jay) (Summer) of Tinley Park, Illinois.
She leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her siblings, Deborah Krzus (Michael) of Sugar Grove, Illinois, Janna Bernard of Chicago, Illinois, Alyson Buchanan (Robert) of Pueblo West, CO , Winfred Bernard Jr. of Odessa FL, and Charles Bernard (Mary) of Lakewood, CO. Brother in law Steven Urban (Susan) of Newport News, Virginia and Gary and Debbie (Urban) Buzzell sister in law of San Jose, California .
She touched the lives of many through her friendships, service, and work. She worked as an office supervisor at Mountain Bell Telephone & Telegraph. Later she worked at Illinois Bell Telephone in Downers Grove, Illinois.
After relocating to Arizona, she worked as an office manager for Southwest Airlines call center in Phoenix AZ. She will be remembered as a loving, devoted, and loyal wife. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother. She was full of energy and had a great sense of humor with a positive outlook on life. She loved to travel and explore new countries. Her love of cruising and especially anything Alaska were highlights in her life. Carol simply loved her family and that life gave her meaning.
She will be greatly missed and the world has lost a very special person to many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 10, 2024, 1:00 PM-2:00 PM, located at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Mesa, AZ.
