Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14 at the Mariposa Gardens Mortuary and Cemetery in Mesa. Burial will be at the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge at a later date.
Barbara Warner was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to William Sturdevant and Berniece (Atherton) Sturdevant.
She attended Fort Dodge High School, graduating in 1951.
Barbara was united in marriage to Robert D. Warner in Fort Dodge on Dec. 30, 1951.
She spent her free time creating art. She painted, made quilts, afghans, needlework and made clothes for her daughter and granddaughters.
Barbara volunteered her time to every sport or activity her kids were a part of.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was very active in her Woman’s Group, played in the bell choir and volunteered in many different areas of the church.
Barbara was a volunteer at the Forest Park Museum for many years and was an active member of the PEO.
In death she rejoins her husband; parents; and siblings, William Sturdevant Jr. and Beverly Carroll.
Left to cherish Barb’s memory are her children, Robert (Susan) Warner Jr. of Mesa and Don (Cathy) Warner of Mesa, Rick (Janet) Warner of Littleton, Colorado, and Beth Renshaw of Waukee; grandchildren, Nathan (Sharla) Warner of Queen Creek, Arizona, Geneva (Charles) Demott of Mesa, Candice (Steven) Upham of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ally (Spencer) Warner of Mesa and Kalen Renshaw of Waukee; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Avery, Ryker and Nick.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorials be made to either the Forest Park Museum or the First United Methodist Church in Perry. Condolence cards can be sent to Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry.
