Ruth L Wood

Ruth was born January 17, 1926 in Cortland, NY to Ralph E. Lewis and Minnie L. Lewis.

She was married to Gordon F. Wood of Cortland, NY. He predeceased her in 1998.

She graduated from Cortland High School and worked at Cortland National Bank until her marriage in 1952. Upon moving to Endwell, NY she loved playing bridge, swimming in the family pool, and being an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.

She moved to Rockledge, FL in 1997 and began volunteering in several Brevard Public School media centers where she shared her love of reading. She also enjoyed walking, traveling, and knitting baby blankets.

She is survived by her daughter: Nancy Rickards (Rick) of Cocoa, FL; her son: Richard Wood (Pamela) of Mansfield, TX; and 3 grandchildren: Bryan Rickards (Kayla) of Peoria, IL; Cameron Wood of Mansfield, TX; and Abigail Yates (Tyler) of Flower Mound, TX

A graveside service will be held at Cortland Rural Cemetery, Cortland, NY on Saturday, June 3rd at 1:00.

Arrangements are with Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, Merritt Island, Florida and Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Cortland, New York.
